"Our job is to show our people in their dignity and strength"

Dr. Abdelfattah Abusrour completed a successful two week speaking and fund raising tour of the U.S. during July. The Friends of Alrowwad USA want to express our appreciation to all those who organized the many events, gatherings and meetings in this successful tour of four cities.

Abed presented his Beautiful Resistance in Palestine talks at the Indiana Center for Middle East Peace in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the Inner city Muslim Action Network in Chicago, the Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition, and the Peace Action Montgomery & the Middle East Committee of Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ in Bethesda, Maryland.

He also had an interview with the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs Magazine and spokepoke at the Peace Cafe at Busboys & Poets in Washington, D.C. He ended his tour in Cambridge, Massachusetts with a welcome dinner hosted by Cambridge/Bethlehem People to People members.

During his Chicago visit, Abed spoke of Alrowwad’s mission:

The aim is to save lives and inspire hope and to give our children and young people possibilities to express themselves in the most beautiful, creative, non armed ways, peaceful ways, but also build the peace within to be able to build it with your own family within your community and beyond…. our job is to show our people in their dignity and their strength.

The Alrowwad Cultural and Theater Training Center is an independent non-political and non-governmental association in the Aida refugee camp. Fifty years after the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories began, our programs of "Beautiful Resistance" are needed more than ever.
